1st Cavalry Regiment's newest Trooper!
Minihooah!

SSG's Chris and Kelly Anderson (did you catch the plural SSG's) proudly announce the birth of their daughter,

PVT E0 Kaitlyn Rose Anderson

on Wednesday 17 December 2008 at 0834hrs at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital in Camden SC. PVT Anderson's birth was unique in that she entered this world with a collective in her left hand and and a cyclic in her right. She was fully dressed in US Army issue flight gear, including flight helmet with the visor down. Tucked into the pockets of her flight suit were the UCMJ, several maintenance manuals on the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter and AH-1F Cobra Helicopter. Also in her pockets were several handtools used for helicopter maintenance. Upon her left chest PVT Anderson proudly wore her US Army Aircrewman Wings.

Immediately after birth PVT Anderson was rushed to the Military Entrance Processing Station at Ft. Jackson, Columbia SC. Having passed all physical and health assessments, including a height of 20 inches and wieght of 7 pounds 3.7 ounces, PVT Anderson made history by becoming the first newborn to take the Oath of Enlistment.

PVT Anderson has not decided on a Military Occupational Specialty yet, however she will either follow her father into the Aviation Branch or her mother into the JAG Corps. (Webmaster thinks Pilot!)

To prepare for her military career, PVT Anderson will immediately begin serving with C Troop (Air) 3rd Squadron 1st Palmetto Cavalry Regiment as an AH-1F Cobra Helicopter Repairer. Her father currently serves with C Troop (Air) as an AH-1F Cobra Helicopter Crewchief.
